Between the World and Me Panel Discussion

Thursday, February 22, 2018

In a profound work that pivots from the biggest questions about American history and ideals to the most intimate concerns of a father for his son, Ta-Nehisi Coates offers a powerful new framework for understanding our nation’s history and current crisis. Panelists will discuss their experience of reading Coates’ book, the significance of his message, the lived experience of black men and boys in America, and how we as a community can support them. The facilitator is Shaunielle McDonald, Director of Diversity Initiatives at Brooks School, and panelists include Michael Eatman, Pike School, Martin Henson of Black Lives Matter, Boston, Trey Brown, Office of Admissions, Phillips Academy, and Linda Carter Griffith, Assistant Head of School for Equity, Inclusion and Wellness at Phillips Academy.
