Pomps Pond Information
- Rules at the pond are listed below and must be adhered to.
- DCS reserves the right to revoke stickers for unruly behavior at Pomps Pond.
- The Pond does not offer refunds.
- Drop off circle allowed only for children age 10 and older. Cars need to stop at gate to speak to the Attendant.
Entrance Fees
Andover residents may purchase a season pass at the DCS office or at the pond for $75 per car. A senior citizen’s discount pass is $30. Proof of Andover residency is required. Non-Andover residents are charged the daily rate of $5 per person. Season passes must be affixed to the vehicle.
Hours of Operation
Mid-June – late July, noon – 7 pm
Early August – mid August, noon – 6 pm
Rules
In order to make Pomps Pond safe and enjoyable for everyone we ask you adhere to the following rules:
- Swim in designated areas only. No Diving.
- Any child under the age of ten must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible person age 18 or above. One responsible person shall supervise no more than five children.
- No running or pushing on docks.
- Non-swimmers must remain in areas where they can stand up, and must be accompanied by an adult.
- The use of any flotation aides or swimming devices is strictly forbidden.
- No eating, or fishing on the docks.
- Right beach may be used as a launching area for an unmotorized boat with permission of Waterfront Coordinator.
- No loitering in or around the bathhouse area.
- No smoking or alcoholic beverages are allowed on Town property.
- No littering – trash must be put in receptacles.
- No ball playing of any kind is allowed in the water, or near the bathhouse.
- Bicycles must be left at the bicycle stands.
- Proper bathing attire must be worn at all times subject to the discretion of lifeguards.
- No dogs allowed on the beach or in the water.
- No swimming under the docks, or areas that are designated as non-swimming.
- Pond stickers or day passes are required for vehicles to enter the parking lot.
- Bathhouse facilities are available during posted times. Please help keep our water clean, and use the facilities when needed.
- Cookouts are not allowed on the beach area. Town grills are to be reserved by the hour; sign up is at the concession stand. Home grills are not allowed.
Continued abuse by any individual of the above rules will result in the
loss of beach privileges.
The Town of Andover will not be responsible for any articles lost or damaged at
the pond.
