Andover Insider: A New Way to Stay Connected

The Town of Andover is excited to announce the launch of Andover Insider, a new free subscription service that will deliver news, insights, and information about what’s going on at Town Offices directly to Andover residents by text.

Andover Insider is designed to be conversational. Subscribers will be brought inside the work of town government by receiving texts from the Town of Andover and have the ability to text the Town Manager and his team directly with questions about Town services.

Subscribing to Andover Insider is free and easy. Simply complete the form on this page, or text ANDOVER to 978-404-8792. After signing up, you will get a text from the Town Manager confirming your subscription. Be sure to save our number so you always know when you’re receiving texts from the Town of Andover.

“The Town of Andover is constantly exploring innovative ways to communicate with residents,” said Town Manager Andrew Flanagan. “By delivering information in a convenient and conversational format, Andover Insider will be a dynamic way for residents to stay engaged and informed.”

Andover Insider subscribers can expect to receive about two broadcast messages per week. The amount of texts sent to subscribers may vary depending on what is happening in Town. For instance, during severe weather emergencies, we may send several messages per day. 

Texts sent to Andover Insider will not be shared with other subscribers. The service is not a group chat, meaning that your conversation will be strictly between you and the Town.

Town staff will do their best to answer all questions directly, however it may not be possible to respond to every question immediately depending on the volume of texts we are receiving. Subscribers may find that their question is addressed in a text to all subscribers, especially in situations where many subscribers are asking the same question.

Andover Insider does not replace other communications tools currently in use by the Town. CodeRed, which delivers alerts by phone, e-mail, and text in emergency scenarios, will remain the official emergency alert platform. Andover Central 311 will continue to be used to report non-emergency issues. Service requests should not be made through Andover Insider.
