Planning Board

The Planning Board has the responsibility to review certain proposed development projects in Town and make decisions on them in accordance with state and local bylaws.


The Planning Board has five regular members and one associate member who are appointed by the Town Manager with the approval of the Board of Selectmen. Planning Board members are Andover residents with a variety of backgrounds who volunteer to serve on the Board. They are assisted by a professional staff that work in the Planning Division at the Town Offices during the day.

    The primary purpose and intent of a Planning Board public hearing is to gather information that will be used to make a decision on the matter before us. We allow a limited time for each public hearing and we often have a very full agenda, so we ask that you be prepared, be brief and non-repetitive.
