Reports
Operators are required to file "Commonwealth of Massachusetts Operator's Reports" when the damage to any one vehicle exceeds $1,000. Operators are also required to file whenever there is personal injury. Two copies are these reports are needed. One copy must be turned into the Police Department where the accident occurred and the second copy must be filed with:

Incident Reports may be picked up at Station from our Records Department. They are open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
In order to obtain a copy of a report in person, or through the mail, you should know the date, time, and location of the incident. If the incident is a motor vehicle crash, you should also have the names of all the operators of the vehicles involved.
Copies of any incident reports or crash reports that are currently pending court will not be given out by the Records Division. Copies of these reports are available through the Lawrence District Court.

All requests for statistical data must be submitted in writing addressed to the Chief of Police. Please be specific in the request and include such information as the date range, specific types of incidents or exact locations of incidents. Also include a telephone number where you can be reached and if possible, an email address. Upon receipt of request, we will contact you and advise you of the cost of the project, as payment is due in advance. If you have any questions, please contact Records at 978-623-3521.

Alarm billing for false alarms are mailed quarterly. The first three alarms received per year are free of charge. The following three alarms will be charged at a rate of $15 per instance. The 7th and subsequent alarms are charged at a rate of $50 per instance. The Police Department should be notified of any change in notification procedure for all alarms.
