"796 Days" Event with Leo Ullman (Phillips Academy) - Fri, May 10 @ 7pm
Friday, May 10, 2019
On Friday, May 10th, Holocaust survivor and author Leo S. Ullman ’57, will present “796 Days: Hiding as a Child in Occupied Amsterdam During WWII”. The event will take place this at 7pm in Kemper Auditorium (located directly across from the entrance to the Andover Inn) on the Phillips Academy campus.
In 1942, in an effort to save his life, Leo’s parents arranged for their 3-year old to “disappear”. Through members of the Resistance, he was placed with a policeman and his family. His parents hid in an attic elsewhere in Amsterdam, with no idea where Leo was or whether he was still alive.
The event, co-sponsored by Phillips Academy’s Office of Community and Multicultural Development, the Jewish Student Union, and the Office of Academy Resources, is free and open to the public.
