Generator Use

All generators, including portable generators,  must be installed by a licensed electrician. A permit must be pulled and the work must be inspected. The generator must be kept a minimum of 10 feet from any structure - and the exhaust must be faced away from the property. Ensure there are working carbon monoxide detectors installed on every habitable level. Never run your generator inside your basement or garage.

Stormwater and Debris

Be sure to keep an eye on areas of your property that are prone to flooding, and make sure storm drains are cleared of debris to make way for additional water flow. Please secure outdoor belongings that could be shifted by strong winds including your trash and recycling containers. Republic Services will make every effort to place your containers back close to your property but strong winds may push these containers back off your property.

Recycling and Trash Collections

For weather-related delays, call 978-623-8700 or sign up for CodeRed for automatic notices. School closings do not automatically coincide with delays in collection.
