Parking Ban

The parking ban will end at 4:00 PM on Sunday, January 30, 2022. 

  • During a snow emergency parking ban, there shall be  no parking at any time on any streets.

Memorial Hall Library is closed on Sunday, January 30, 2022

Clearing Hydrants

If you are able, please consider clearing hydrants that are near your home. Clear at least three feet in all directions around the hydrant with a path from the road to the hydrant. 

Vent and Exhaust Clearing

Winds can cause snow to drift in ways that may cover your home heating or drying vents. Be sure to monitor these vents and ensure they are clear and not blocked by snow. 

311 Information Line

During plowable snow events, the 311 information line will be activated for the duration of the town's response to the storm. You may dial 311 within the geographical boundaries of Andover or (978) 623-8311 from anywhere.

Power Outages

In the event of a power outage, please call the National Grid outage line at 1-800-465-1212. If you have life-sustaining equipment, such as oxygen, and have lost power please call 1-800-322-3223. You can also report or view the status outage on National Grid’s Power Outage Map. National Grid updates information on this site every 15 minutes. You can download the National Grid App for IOS or Android for easy access on your mobile device. For downed electrical wires please call the Andover Police Department at 978-623-3500 and press 0 for Dispatch.

For Cable/Satellite outages, please contact your provider directly.

Generator Use

All generators, including portable generators,  must be installed by a licensed electrician. A permit must be pulled and the work must be inspected. The generator must be kept a minimum of 10 feet from any structure - and the exhaust must be faced away from the property. Ensure there are working carbon monoxide detectors installed on every habitable level. Never run your generator inside your basement or garage.

Downed Trees

For downed trees, please contact the Forestry Division at 978-623-8780. For downed trees with wire entanglement, please call the Andover Police Department at 978-623-3500 and press 0 for Dispatch.

Stormwater and Debris

Be sure to keep an eye on areas of your property that are prone to flooding, and make sure storm drains are cleared of debris to make way for additional water flow. Please secure outdoor belongings that could be shifted by strong winds including your trash and recycling containers. Republic Services will make every effort to place your containers back close to your property but strong winds may push these containers back off your property.
