Starting May 5th, the Town of Andover’s general contractor will be replacing water mains on several streets around town (see map). Construction will occur Monday through Friday, from 7 am to 3 pm. We anticipate this construction to last approximately 5 months.
The streets included in the project are as follows: Poor St, Kensington St, Kenilworth St, Magnolia Ave, Ferndale Ave, Stirling St, Dumbarton St, Sutherland St, Carlisle St, Liberty St from Sutherland St to Carlisle St, Haverhill St from York St to Enmore St, North Main St from Railroad St to Joyce Ter, Pearson St, Essex St, and Ridge St. (see map)
The construction on North Main Street will take place during varied hours for 2-4 weeks starting on November 7th. Daytime work will take place from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM and nighttime work will take place from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
The construction may require some adjustments in neighborhood driving patterns; however, every effort will be made to minimize this inconvenience. There may be detours and delays. Emergency vehicles will not be prevented from responding to calls. There will be periodic shutdowns and potential discolored water associated with this water main work. Overnight water shutdown on Poor St, Martingale Ln, Mon, Nov 7th:
On Monday, November 7th, 2022 the Town’s contractor will continue water main work on Poor Street. This will include a water main shutdown of Poor Street, From William St to Haverhill St, including all of Martingale Lane. (See attached map) from 10:00 pm to 5:00 am (overnight). Construction will take place from 8:00 pm to 6:00 am. The construction may cause some adjustments in driving patterns; there may be detours and delays. This work is taking place at night to lessen the impact on residents and businesses. Emergency vehicles will not be prevented from responding to their calls.
