Update 9:10 PM 9/8/2023
This is an important updated emergency communication from the Town of Andover.
Several major roads and secondary roads continue to be impassable as a result of downed trees or tree limbs. Further, there are widespread reports of downed live wires across roads and sidewalks. Most of Andover’s residents and businesses are without power.
We expect that unsafe conditions will continue into Saturday and Sunday. We appreciate the community’s understanding that the impacts from this storm, including power outages, will last multiple days. The duration of these impacts will be assessed as information becomes available.
Andover Police and Fire, along with the Department of Public Works, are continuing to respond to calls for service throughout the town. At this time, calls are being prioritized based on life and safety. Public safety departments from other municipalities are in town to support the ongoing storm response.
The Town of Andover is encouraging residents to stay indoors until conditions have improved. If travel is necessary, residents are encouraged to use extreme caution.
Again, 911 calls are being prioritized based on life and safety. If you are experiencing an emergency, please call 911.
