MAS Building and Bridge, Inc. has been contracted by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) to remove and replace the North Main Street (Rte. 28) Bridge over the MBTA / PanAm Railroad. The project involves the complete removal of the bridge decking superstructure and partial removal of both North and South abutment substructures. Please note: night and weekend work can be expected through various portions of the demolition and reconstruction in order to coordinate with the railroad entities while working over the tracks.
PROJECT UPDATE 7/1/2019: The Rt. 28 North Main St. Bridge is in the final stages of completion. The second phase of the Project was completed on schedule and various site improvements are underway, including guardrail, fencing, curbing, sidewalks, loom and seed, and driveway aprons. Final paving is expected for July 16th (weather dependent) and the Project’s striping and concrete deck grooving work to follow. Substantial completion is now projected for August 2019.
