  1. American History with Don Robb: The Gilded Age

    April 18, 2019, 1:30 PM - 3:00 PM @ MHL - The Hall

Historians and economists often compare the "Gilded Age" (1876 - 1900) to the Nineteen Twenties, and present day-America. This six-part series, which begins on April 18, is led by Don Robb and will explore how the Gilded Age changed America: powerful industrial corporations, a huge influx of immigrants, the growth of great cities, party politics as tense as those of today and the reactions of the American people, rich and poor, to a changing society. The next five lectures are on Thursdays, May 2, 9, 16, 23 & 30 from 1:30-3pm. A collaboration of Memorial Hall Library and Andover Elder Services/The Senior Center at Punchard.
