The Community Events Calendar is to publicize any event located in Andover sponsored by the Town, by a non-profit, or by a for-profit organization running a charitable fundraiser, where the general public is invited to attend. The Elder Services Calendar shows the dates and times of programs and events at the Senior Center at Punchard additional information about these programs may be found here.   1. Dementia Dialogues

    January 14, 2020, 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM @ Memorial Hall Library

    A monthly discussion group for anyone and everyone wanting to discuss dementia, including caregivers/care partners and people living with dementia. Facilitated by Emily Kearns, PhD, MBA, RMT. Emily’s personal experience care partnering with her parents, who both lived with dementia, was life-changing, catapulting her into what is now her first love—re-framing dementia and supporting those who live with it. Emily is committed to change-making, including innovative programming and community education, so that individuals living with dementia may continue to live well, experiencing joy and meaningful engagement in communities that support and celebrate them and the life they choose. Meets in Alcove 2 on Level G.

  2. Parent to Parent & MHL present: Dear Evan Hansen

    January 14, 2020, 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM @ MHL - The Hall

    Parent to Parent and MHL Teen Services Librarians will facilitate a discussion of Dear Evan Hansen, the novelization of the hit Broadway musical of the same name. In School Library Journal, Katya Shapiro writes, "An unpredictable and endearing take on some classic themes, this novel will especially appeal to fans of the show but will also be easily accessible to new audiences." Parent-to-Parent is an organization dedicated to bringing informative and helpful speakers to area parents seeking more information on relevant child-rearing topics. Teen Services Librarians Renata Sancken and Anna Tschetter will help facilitate this discussion and invite tweens, teens, and their caregivers to discuss this timely story.

Access to these award-winning papers illuminates the important issues of the day, offers exclusive live-events, real-time chat opportunities with columnists, topical blogs and access to some truly fun word and sudoku puzzles. You may bring a laptop and/or mobile device to class, but it's not required.
