"What does it mean to be human? A story of Holocaust survival and present-day discovery" is the title of Karen Treiger's presentation - an amazing multimedia, multilayered, multi-generational interactive story of family, survival, love, and luck. After 18 years of practicing law in Seattle, Treiger felt an unmistakable call to explore the story of her in-laws, Sam and Esther Goldberg - including Sam's escape from the death camp Treblinka, as well as her family's experiences in Poland when they retraced the path from Treblinka to the pit in the Polish forest where they hid until their liberation. Sam and Esther's story is one of love and the will to live, no matter what they had to endure. This book brings to life the horror of the Nazis' actions and the toll it exacted on so many families, Jews and non-Jews alike.
Books will be available for purchase and signing at $12 each (list price is $14.99).
