The structure of the online class will include slide and sample artwork presentations on the topics mentioned, demonstrations, individual discussions via zoom breakout rooms (splitting from the main online class meeting), and group critiques through on-screen work-sharing and live discussions.

Expand your understanding of portraiture by practicing a variety of approaches to depicting your family, your roommates, or even yourself. This class will challenge you to consider how you approach an intimate subject and what your technical and stylistic choices say about your relationship. Open to artists in any medium who want to make portraits of loved ones, as well as non-artists who simply wish to discuss art and learn different philosophies of portraiture.
Class format: We will meet together using Zoom video conferencing. An invite will be emailed to you before each class session, and you'll need internet access on your computer, tablet, or phone to participate.
