Lieutenant Guy began his law enforcement career in 1995 with the City of Methuen, Ma. During his tenure with the city of Methuen, he was assigned to the Patrol Division and Neighborhood Services Bureau. In 2004, Lieutenant Guy transferred to the Andover Police Department where he has served the community in several capacities. He was initially assigned to the Patrol Division and in 2006 was assigned to the Detective Division in the Substance Abuse Unit. While in the SA.U. he investigated narcotics and vice crimes and worked with outside law enforcement agencies on investigations. During his time in the SA.U. he was awarded the Robert T. Black Award, along with his teammates, for their efforts in over 200 arrests in 2006.
In 2008, Lieutenant Guy was promoted to Sergeant and served as a Patrol Supervisor until his promotion to Lieutenant in 2012. As a Sergeant he was also the Department's Accreditation Manager and led the department to Re-Accreditation in 2012 through the Massachusetts Police Accreditation Commission, which oversees the State Law Enforcement Accreditation system. Lt. Guy currently serves as an assessor for the Massachusetts Police Accreditation Commission and has done so since 2011. Prior to his assignment leading Support Services, he was assigned as the Shift Commander for the Midnight Shift overseeing Patrol Operations.
Lieutenant Guy holds a B.S. in Law Enforcement and an M.S. in Criminal Justice Administration, both from Western New England College. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and Northwestern University's School of Police Staff and Command and completed FBI LEEDA's Leadership Trilogy. Lt. Guy has also served as the President for the Patrolman's Collective Bargaining Unit and President for the Superior Officer's Collective Bargaining Unit.
Lieutenant Guy is a Veteran of the United States Air Force serving his country honorably on active duty from 1989-1993. While on active duty he served at bases in Montana and Turkey. While serving in Turkey, he was awarded the Air Force Achievement Medal. He was also a member of the New Hampshire Air National Guard serving honorably from 1994 - 2000.
