The Town of Andover's recently formed Central Street Historic District Study Committee (Study Committee) invites residents to attend a community forum on Wednesday, September 11 at 7:00 PM in the Select Board Room at Andover Town Offices. The forum will provide residents with an opportunity to learn about the Study Committee's work and the process of establishing a new historic district in Andover. Residents will be asked to offer feedback on the potential creation of a historic district encompassing Central Street and surrounding areas.

The Study Committee was established by a vote of the Select Board on June 17, 2024 to study the benefits, parameters, and feasibility of establishing a new historic district that would protect the historic integrity of Central Street. The seven-member committee, appointed on August 6, will conduct a thorough investigation, assessing the historical and architectural significance of the Central Street area. Public input gathered through the community forum on September 11 will inform this process.

After completing its investigation, the Study Committee will compile a final report with recommendations related to the creation of a historic district. Any recommendation for the creation of an historic district would ultimately require Town Meeting approval.

Join the conversation on September 11 and help shape the future of Andover's historic Central Street area.
