The Town of Andover is actively  responding to a major winter storm that impacted the region on Sunday, February 22 through Monday, February 23. For the latest information and updates about impacts to Town operations, visit andoverma.gov/storm

Snow Emergency Parking Ban

A snow emergency parking ban will be in place beginning at 8:00 PM on Sunday, February 22 and will remain in effect until further notice to enable DPW crews to clear and treat roadways. No parking is permitted on Town roads while the ban is in place. Vehicles parked in violation of the parking ban may be ticketed or towed.

Town Building and School Closures/Delays

On Tuesday, February 24, the opening of Town buildings will be delayed to 10:30 AM. This includes Town Offices, offices temporarily located at Old Town Hall, Memorial Hall Library, Cormier Youth Center, and the Robb Center.

Andover Public Schools will be closed on Tuesday, February 24.

Trash and Recycling

There will be no trash and recycling collection on Monday, and collection will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week.

Other Advisories

Road conditions are expected to change quickly as the storm intensifies. Residents are strongly encouraged to stay off roadways when possible, and to give plows and other snow clearing equipment ample space to operate throughout the storm.

As you begin clearing snow, please help crews and emergency responders by clearing catch basins and fire hydrants near your property. Residents should also maintain clearance for all natural gas and other exhaust vents on their homes, and ensure vehicle tailpipes are clear of snow before starting and operating vehicles.

Given the potential for high winds and heavy snowfall, the Town is coordinating with National Grid regarding the possibility of power outages. If conditions warrant, the Town will share additional operational updates and information on available resources based on circumstances as they develop.
