Vote Registration

The Board of Registrars of Voters will hold extended hours on Saturday, June 8, 2024 from 8:30 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. at the Public Safety Building, 32 North Main Street, Andover for the purpose of registering new voters. This is the last day to register to vote in the June 18, 2024 Special Town Meeting.

Residents may also register to vote at the Town Clerk’s Office during regular business hours, which are Monday through Friday 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M, subject to the June 8th deadline. Residents with a license or an I.D. issued by the Registry of Motor Vehicles may also register to vote online by visiting: www.RegisterToVoteMA.com. Mail-in registration forms must be postmarked by the June 8th deadline.

Electronic Voting Procedures

At this Town Meeting, residents will vote by electronic voting device. Doing so allows for faster votes, ensured accuracy, and anonymity.

The voting devices, or handsets, look a bit like TV remote controls – but instead of pushing buttons to changes channels, voters push the buttons to vote: the 1 button for “Yes,” or the 2 button for “No.”

The following describes the procedures that will govern electronic voting at Andover’s Town Meetings.

Voters are strongly encouraged to arrive for voter check-in between 6:00-6:45pm. Given the procedures associated with electronic voting, the check-in process will take more time than usual. The meeting will start promptly at 7:00pm.

Voters attending the Town Meeting will check-in with Town Clerk’s Office staff operating “PollPads.” As voters check-in to confirm their voter registration, they will be given a handset for use during that Town Meeting session.
