The Town of Andover is seeking applicants to serve on the American 250th Committee, which will lead efforts to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 2026. The Committee will plan events and initiatives that celebrate the nation’s founding and highlight Andover’s role in the American Revolution. Members will help organize educational programs, community celebrations, and partnerships that engage residents in reflecting on the people and stories that shaped both Andover and the United States at the time of its founding.
The Committee will include nine members, including representatives from local organizations and residents with interest or experience in history, education, public programming, or community engagement. The group will begin its work in late 2025 and continue through 2026.
