Andover's 6th Annual Earth Day Cleanup Event
The Town of Andover’s Department of Public Works will hold its sixth annual Neighborhood Cleanup Day in honor of Earth Day on Saturday, April 18th, 2026, from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm.
To sign up for this event, please start by filling out an Earth Day Team Signup form. It is OK if you do not have all your volunteers listed and/or liability forms yet; these can be handed in the morning of the event at the latest. Please indicate the Team Leader, the approximate number of participants expected, and the street(s) or area you would like to clean. Those who email or hand in liability forms separately will need to indicate the Team Leader or Team name they will be joining.
- Each team/group needs one Earth Day Team Signup Form indicating the cleanup area, team leader, and list of volunteers
- Each participant must complete and sign the Town’s Volunteer Waiver Form by check-in (minors must have a legal guardian's signature)
- Email completed forms to recycle@andoverma.us.
On the day of the event, check-in will be at the Municipal Services Building located at 5 Campanelli Drive. Participants can hand in any outstanding forms and then pick up gloves and bags for the cleanup. We do not need all volunteers to be present at check-in, just a team leader or representative who can distribute the gloves and bags to their team.
Call the Department of Public Works or email recycle@andoverma.us for questions or more details. If you would like to participate but don’t know where to start, please contact us!
About Earth Day
Earth Day, first celebrated on April 22, 1970, was founded by Senator Gaylord Nelson to raise awareness about environmental issues. It emerged as a response to growing concerns about pollution and ecological degradation following significant events such as the 1969 Santa Barbara oil spill. Since then, Earth Day has evolved into a global movement, marked by activities promoting environmental protection, sustainability, and advocacy for a healthier planet.
